Superior Engineering & Design
Since our all-in-one wristband is self-laminating; it is moisture
proof, smudge proof, scratch proof, flake proof, and tear proof.
LaserBand products have been designed with safety
and comfort in mind; they contain no natural latex, have no sharp edges
and no metal parts.
The products have been created utilizing
adhesive tabs to secure the band onto a wrist or ankle. This keeps the
identification band securely in place and eliminates any loose ends.
All wristbands and labels have been manufactured for laser printing, specifically for consistent and reliable toner adhesion.
No
loose areas exist on LaserBand products. While other products in the
marketplace may peel off in your printers, LaserBand product components
remain in one piece on the carrier sheet from paper tray to output
tray.
Adhesive-free zones can be found around all edges,
hole-punching and any other areas where there could be an opportunity
for adhesive ooze to contaminate your printer.
Pattern adhesive
and silicon are also part of the design. This allows our wristbands and
labels to be removed smoothly and cleanly from the carrier sheet, while
all other materials stay put. The end result is one final piece to
throw away rather than several scraps at different stages of the
process.
While the edges of the adult bands are very soft on the
skin, we have taken even further precautions with the smaller bands
intended for children and infants. A thinner laminate has been used to
make the edges even more forgiving.
Versatile
All of the wristbands are adjustable. By simply overlapping the
ends, the bands can be made as large or as small as necessary. To
further assist you, we offer an entire family of LaserBand products
including adult, pediatric and infant sizes.
Since you can
customize LaserBand products by printing anything on them, all special
coding for a patient can be accomplished with one wristband. Now,
instead of having one band that has been imprinted and assembled on the
old system, a second band in a color notifying the staff of an allergy,
plus even a third band alerting the staff to something else, all of
these can be accomplished on one LaserBand wristband.
As with
any other paper stock that is placed in a laser printer, these products
will work with any software ranging from fully integrated
enterprise-wide systems to a simple print-on-demand program.
Anything
that can be printed from a facility's existing or new software and
printer can be printed on a LaserBand wristband; any size, style or
color of font, any special color coding, designs, bar codes, graphics
or even photographs.
LaserBand products were originally created
for the healthcare industry, but can be used in any situation where
identification is needed, e.g., matching children to their parents in
day care centers, family theme-restaurants, children’s play/discovery
centers, coding at theme parks designating which rides have been paid
for, admission to special events, and second-day passes to events or
parks rather than hand stamping. The possibilities are endless.
Endless Variations
We have listened to the needs of customers and have developed a
full family of products to include items for adults, pediatrics and
infants as well as specialty products to distinguish all their unique
needs.
For those situations where it needs to be crystal clear
that a band has been removed and replaced, tamper evident versions are
available.
Software programs already exist that are not only
tailored to, but restricted to, other types of identification bands -
such as Standard Register’s Patient LinkUp software. LaserBand has some
exciting solutions for those situations that are as simple to implement
as changing the paper in the printer.
We are continuing to develop new and innovative products to meet the needs of customers and technological advancements.
Economical
All LaserBand products have been specifically developed to print on
the laser printer that is already in place. There is no need to
purchase and maintain special equipment which requires
maintenance/repair and extra supplies in addition to taking up valuable
work space.
The cost of a LaserBand wristband is comparable to
the average cost of just the container used in embossed card systems.
Include the avoided costs of the plastic cards, printer ribbons,
label/insert, plus embosser and imprinter maintenance, and the savings
become clear.
Positioned for Future Technology
As the need for electronic file storage in healthcare increases, so
does the need for clear bar coding on all documents to enable
pre-indexing. The extra labels contained on many of the LaserBand
formats or its companion products can accomplish this.
Bar
coding can be used on all of our products to completely eliminate the
chance of human error through misreading or transposing information.
Children’s bands can be scanned and then matched to their parents; and
patients’ bands can be scanned and then matched to their medical record
chart, medication or lab test.
Additionally, LaserBand is prepared to address our customers' evolving technology needs and has the ability to fully incorporate
RFID into our extensive line of patient identification wristbands and across both laser and thermal print platforms.
